Less waste.
More understanding.
Prepwise connects ingredient inventory, waste logs, food costs, and simple ordering recommendations in one focused demonstration app for a fictional restaurant.
A practical operations problem
Inventory and waste records are more useful when they affect the same picture. This prototype connects the actions: logging waste reduces available stock, receiving a delivery increases it, and the planning view recalculates.
Try the full loop
- Log 2 lb of chicken waste and watch stock and costs update.
- Review the waste log and try Undo.
- Receive 10 lb of chicken under Inventory.
- Open Ordering plan and change the number of days.
- Explore sample recipe costs or export the waste log.
Transparent calculations
Waste cost uses each entry’s quantity and unit cost. Recipe breakdowns show every modeled ingredient. Ordering targets combine synthetic daily usage, a planning horizon, and safety stock, then round shortages up to complete packs.
Pure domain functions have automated checks for totals, validation, stock changes, undo, recipes, and ordering calculations.
Deliberately a demonstration
The data belongs to fictional North Table Kitchen. Changes stay in the browser, with a reset option. There are no live supplier, POS, accounting, or purchasing integrations. It is not ready for real operations and does not model lead times, expiry, multiple users, or production audit controls.
Self-initiated software demo with fictional data. No restaurant has deployed this prototype, and no waste reduction or savings are claimed.
